Mason

About This Role

Laying bricks, concrete blocks, and stones to construct various masonry structures is the core of this role. The mason will prepare and apply bonding materials, ensuring all work adheres to construction drawings and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and stones according to construction drawings and specifications
• Prepare and apply mortar, cement, and other bonding materials
• Construct walls, partitions, foundations, and other masonry structures
• Read and interpret construction drawings, dimensions, and levels
• Measure, cut, and shape bricks, blocks, and stones as required
• Perform plastering, pointing, grouting, and minor repair works when required
• Ensure walls and structures are straight, level, and properly aligned
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition
• Follow site safety rules and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and other construction workers
• Keep the work area clean and organized and minimize material wastage
