Position Summary

Meridian Waste is seeking a Marketing Specialist to support revenue growth initiatives across multiple markets. This role is responsible for executing marketing campaigns, supporting the sales organization, managing digital marketing activities, and helping drive qualified lead generation.

Working closely with the Director of Marketing, Sales Managers, and external marketing partners, the Marketing Specialist will execute marketing initiatives by building campaigns, managing digital platforms, coordinating projects, analyzing results, and supporting company-wide marketing efforts.

Work Environment

  • Full-time, in-office position based at Meridian Waste's Corporate Headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% for market visits, company meetings, trade shows, training, and other business-related events.

Primary Responsibilities

Marketing & Sales Support

  • Execute marketing initiatives that support revenue growth sales efforts across multiple markets.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Sales Managers to implement marketing campaigns that generate qualified leads.
  • Build targeted prospect lists using HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other data sources.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to support and analyze marketing campaigns and business development efforts.
  • Support marketing initiatives for new market launches and other strategic growth projects.
  • Create marketing collateral and campaign assets that support the sales organization.
  • Support the planning and execution of trade shows, customer events, and other marketing initiatives as needed.

Digital Advertising & Website Management

  • Build, launch, and optimize Google Ads and other paid digital advertising campaigns.
  • Manage retargeting campaigns that support brand awareness and lead generation.
  • Coordinate website content updates, landing page creation, and routine enhancements with Meridian Waste's website development partner.
  • Support ongoing SEO/AEO initiatives to improve online visibility.
  • Monitor website traffic and campaign performance using Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and other reporting tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve website performance and share recommendations with the Director of Marketing.
  • Stay current on digital marketing trends and share ideas for improving campaign performance and customer engagement.

Marketing Campaign Management

  • Build and launch email marketing campaigns and sequences using HubSpot.
  • Create landing pages, forms, lists, workflows, and other campaign assets within HubSpot.
  • Build audience lists and campaign assets using CRM data and third-party prospecting tools.
  • Execute integrated marketing campaigns under the direction of the Director of Marketing.
  • Maintain accurate marketing data and campaign assets within HubSpot.
  • Monitor campaign performance and document opportunities for continuous improvement.

Marketing Technology

  • Build and maintain marketing assets within HubSpot, including emails, landing pages, forms, lists, workflows, and dashboards.
  • Maintain marketing campaign data and assets within HubSpot.
  • Support CRM marketing initiatives under the direction of the Director of Marketing.

Social Media Support

  • Assist in executing Meridian Waste's corporate social media strategy.
  • Schedule and publish approved content across social media platforms.
  • Coordinate with operating locations to identify stories, photos, and marketing opportunities.
  • Monitor engagement and prepare performance reporting.

Marketing Content & Creative Support

  • Create digital marketing assets, presentations, sales materials, and promotional collateral that align with Meridian Waste brand standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to develop marketing materials.
  • Assist in maintaining brand consistency across marketing channels.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track campaign performance across digital marketing channels.
  • Prepare recurring marketing reports and dashboards.
  • Monitor key marketing performance metrics and identify trends.
  • Document observations and opportunities for campaign optimization.
  • Maintain accurate marketing data across marketing platforms.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Sales, Customer Care, Operations, and external vendors to support marketing initiatives.
  • Coordinate assigned marketing deliverables across departments.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Support additional marketing projects and department initiatives as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in marketing, digital marketing, B2B marketing, marketing operations, or a related role.
  • Experience managing Google Ads and other digital advertising campaigns.
  • Hands-on experience using HubSpot or a similar CRM and marketing automation platform.
  • Experience using Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console.
  • Working knowledge of SEO best practices.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a B2B sales organization.
  • Experience using Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar prospecting tools.
  • Experience coordinating website projects with external vendors or agencies.
  • Experience creating marketing reports using Looker Studio or similar reporting platforms.
  • Experience supporting digital marketing campaign optimization through testing and analysis.
  • Experience in the waste management, environmental services, construction, industrial services, or a related industry is a plus.
