About This Role
This role is for a Market & Product Strategist to manage client relationships, apply market insights to accounts, and execute strategic campaigns. You will be responsible for diagnosing client business growth issues and developing evidence-based plans to address them.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose why a client's business isn't growing: foot traffic, local search visibility, menu and pricing position, competitive density, reviews, loyalty and retention
- Map each client's market — competitors within their drive radius, price tiers, licensing and new-entrant activity, municipal rules, and seasonal demand
- Turn findings into prioritized plans with clear owners, budgets and the metrics we'll be judged on
- Track and translate regulatory shifts (NJ CRC and other active states) into what they mean for a client's marketing, packaging and product
- Advise product clients on assortment, positioning, pricing and launch strategy, including co-packing and wholesale routes
- Bring a point of view to every client meeting, not just a status update
- Serve as day-to-day lead for a portfolio of agency clients: communication, expectations, scope and renewals
- Run recurring client strategy calls and keep work moving between clients and our design, web and outreach team
- Co-write proposals and scopes with the Creative Director, and help price the work
- Track deliverables, timelines and client billing / accounts receivable status
- Vet vendors and partners for compliance and fit before we commit
- Build, upload and schedule client email campaigns from approved designs and copy
- Segment client customer lists into targeted groups (new vs. lapsed, loyalty tier, product preference, location)
- Schedule and send client SMS campaigns, keeping within opt-in and cannabis compliance rules
- Upload and schedule in-store digital signage screens in Yodeck
- Keep each client's campaign calendar current and report back on sends, opens, clicks and redemptions
- Flag what the results say so the next round of strategy gets sharper
- Sharpen POST's own positioning, service packages and pricing as the agency grows
- Identify and size new verticals and markets for the agency
- Advise Scarlet Express on market expansion, B2B vs. B2C opportunity, competitive moves and partner strategy
- Build target lists and talking points that make leadership's outreach land
Requirements
- 1–5+ years in marketing strategy, brand strategy, account management or consulting, with client-facing ownership
- Working knowledge of the regulated cannabis market: licensing, retail economics, compliance limits on advertising and packaging
- Hands-on experience running email and SMS campaigns, including list segmentation and scheduling (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Alpine IQ or similar)
- Comfort with data: you can pull insights from Google Business Profile, GA4, search tools, POS or menu reports, and explain them plainly
- Strong writer and presenter who can turn analysis into a one-page recommendation
- A self-starter: you spot the problem, propose the fix and chase it down without waiting to be asked
- Detail-oriented and organized enough to run several accounts and send calendars at once without dropping threads
Nice to have:
- Hands-on experience with a dispensary, brand, MSO, or cannabis agency
- Familiarity with the New Jersey market and the CRC
- Background in local SEO, retail marketing, product launches or CPG; experience with Yodeck or other digital signage tools
- Experience pricing and scoping agency proposals
- Exposure to logistics, delivery or B2B sales
Important Details

- Work location: Philadelphia / South Jersey
- Work format: hybrid or remote, to be determined
- Employment type: Full-time
