About the role
Our client is a major global energy and commodities company with a strong presence across trading, refining, logistics, and supply chain operations. As part of its continued growth and investment in market intelligence capabilities, the company is seeking a Market Intelligence Analyst (Light Ends) to provide fundamental market analysis, actionable insights, and data-driven intelligence that support commercial decision-making within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental analysis of Light Ends markets, identifying key trends in supply, demand, pricing, margins, and trade flows.
- Develop and maintain market views by leveraging a combination of internal intelligence, market data, and industry insights.
- Produce regular reports, dashboards, and market updates to support commercial decision-making.
- Monitor developments across refining, petrochemical, and downstream industries, assessing their impact on market fundamentals and regional flows.
- Build and maintain analytical models, datasets, and forecasting tools to improve market transparency and insight generation.
- Utilize digital and analytical tools to automate reporting processes and enhance data visualization.
- Work closely with commercial teams to provide timely market intelligence, validate assumptions, and identify emerging opportunities and risks.
- Contribute to regional and global market outlooks by connecting local developments with broader industry trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in commodities, market analysis, commercial analytics, energy, chemicals, refining, logistics, or related sectors.
- Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, with the ability to convert complex data into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Power BI, Python, or other business intelligence and analytical platforms.
- Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and develop clear market assessments and forecasts.
- Understanding of refining, petrochemical, industrial processing, or related value chains is advantageous.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience covering Light Ends, petrochemicals, refining, energy markets, logistics, or trade-flow analysis.
- Proven experience developing dashboards, models, and analytical tools for commercial teams.
- Exposure to AI-enabled analytics, automation tools, or digitalization initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively with commercial stakeholders and provide constructive challenge to market assumptions.
