Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and hands-on Marine Skipper / Crew member to support vessel testing, sea trials, demonstrations, and technical activities in Dubai. The ideal candidate should have marine operating experience along with basic mechanical/electrical engineering knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and test vessels safely in Dubai and surrounding waters.
- Conduct sea trials, vessel demonstrations, and close-quarter manoeuvres.
- Ensure compliance with UAE maritime laws and DMCA safety regulations.
- Support engineers with installation, commissioning, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of marine systems.
- Assist with sensor calibration, system integration, and prototype testing.
- Collect sea-trial data and provide technical feedback to the engineering team.
- Maintain high safety standards and report any hazards or issues.
- Be willing to travel within the UAE/GCC and work flexible hours when required.
Requirements:
- Valid marine medical certificate (ENG1/ML5 or UAE-approved equivalent).
- Skipper: Experience operating RIBs/tenders around 12m; RYA Powerboat Advanced or DMCA equivalent. Yachtmaster Offshore is preferred.
- Crew: Minimum 1 year of experience on RIBs/tenders; RYA Powerboat Level 2 or DMCA equivalent.
- VHF/SRC and First Aid certification preferred/required as applicable.
- Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Practical engineering experience, preferably in marine, automotive, or aerospace environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment.
