About the role
- Location: West -Penjuru
- Salary: $6,500 - $7,500
- Working days: Monday – Friday
- Working hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm
Responsibilities
Marine Safety & Vessel Operations
- Lead the HSE section and manage marine-related safety, security, injury, accident and operational incident investigations, including detailed reporting and follow-up of corrective measures.
- Conduct regular weekly vessel visits and participate in shipboard meetings and drills.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for improvement, and advise Masters on marine HSE and navigational matters.
- Assume the DPA role.
Surveys & Vessel Compliance
- Ensure vessels comply with Class and Flag State requirements.
- Ensure SIRE surveys are properly carried out and attend SIRE inspections, Class surveys and Flag State surveys.
Fleet, Maintenance & Procurement
- Assist with deck department requisitions, sourcing and monitoring of fleet consumables, including receiving and delivery arrangements.
- Attend vessel dry dockings and repairs.
- Conduct regular vessel inspections to monitor vessel condition and prepare relevant condition, maintenance and crew performance reports.
- Participate as part of the Emergency Response Team.
Crew Management & Training
- Identify training requirements for shore-based and shipboard deck personnel, conduct induction training for newly joined crews and establish training programmes for deck officers.
- Monitor the performance and competency of Masters and Chief Officers and provide recommendations to management.
- Manage deck officer and rating assignments, recruitment interviews, recommendations for recruitment, promotion, disciplinary matters, performance reviews and rejoining briefings.
- Oversee crew welfare matters, including leave, salary, medical and certification, and ensure smooth handling of crew matters.
- Perform other fleet management duties as assigned.
Requirement
- Relevant Managerial experience in marine operations, HSE and fleet management, with hands-on experience in DPA, SIRE, Class & Flag State surveys.
- Experience in vessel operations, crew management, marine incident investigation and dry docking.
