Manufacturing Technician

Manufacturing Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for performing various tasks related to the production of refrigeration units. This role involves following standard operating procedures, ensuring high quality in results, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The Manufacturing Technician will work closely with other team members to meet production goals and contribute to the overall efficiency of the manufacturing process.
You will interact with coworkers and supervisors in a culture of accountability that values speed, transparency, and the free exchange of information and ideas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble components and subassemblies according to production specifications and blueprints.
- Operate and maintain machinery and tools used in the production process.
- Ensure that products are assembled correctly and meet quality standards.
- Perform regular checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Report any quality issues or discrepancies to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
- Comply with all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and comply with company policies and regulations.
- Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
- Handle raw materials and components, including loading and unloading.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including routine cleaning and equipment maintenance.
- Assist with minor repairs and troubleshooting of production equipment.
- Collaborate with other manufacturing employees and departments to achieve production goals.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production progress and issues.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and suggest improvements to production processes.
- Build pallets and boxes as needed for shipments.
- Be willing to work overtime as business needs dictate.
- Perform other assigned tasks, including in other departments within the manufacturing process.
Knowledge, Skills, and Education:
- Knowledge and experience in using hand and power tools (e.g., electric drill, jigsaw, metal shears, hammers, etc.).
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good physical condition and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience using measuring devices (imperial measurement system).
- Competence in basic math functions.
- Education and Experience:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
Language, Physical, and Travel Requirements:
- Verbal and written communication skills (Bilingual English/Spanish desirable)
- Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive movements
- Occasionally lift weights up to 50 pounds
- Reside in proximity that allows for daily commuting to our Manufacturing Center in Azusa, California
