About This Role
Working in a variety of areas, the Manufacturing Technician operates high-speed production equipment in processing and packaging to produce Milk-Bone products. This role suits a motivated individual who can work as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Work afternoon and evening shifts, which may alternate weekly
- Attend assigned shifts and work weekends as required
- Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
- Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner
- Work in all areas of processing and packaging, including operating, being in close proximity to, and crossing platforms over machinery
- Assist fellow employees as needed
Requirements
- High-school degree or equivalent is required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, GMP's and general instructions
- Good communication skills are required
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out both oral and written instructions
- Regularly required to stand and lift
- Stand and walk at minimum 70% of the time
- Ability to work 8-hour shifts with a maximum of 16 hours required
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
- Ability to squat or kneel and to bend on a frequent basis
- Ability to work in a cold and hot environment
- Ability to tolerate exposure to flour and yeast materials
- Ability to climb steps on a frequent basis
- Ability to perform essential job functions consistent with safety standards and practices with or without a reasonable accommodation
Nice to have:
- 3+ years related manufacturing experience or equivalent technical/vocational experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly motivated and responsible
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Use of computers and PLCs in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Associate degree
