About This Role

This role is for a Mandarin Translator to join the administrative and support team, facilitating effective communication between Chinese and Indonesian operations. The position is vital in supporting seamless interaction across language barriers, ensuring critical business information, documentation, and communications are accurately conveyed. This role is essential to maintaining strong relationships with Chinese partners and ensuring the smooth operation of construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Translate technical and business documents from Mandarin Chinese to Indonesian and vice versa, including project specifications, contracts, and correspondence
• Provide real-time interpretation during meetings, negotiations, and site visits between Chinese and Indonesian staff members
• Ensure accuracy and cultural appropriateness of all translated materials to maintain professional standards
• Assist with the preparation of translated reports, presentations, and administrative documentation
• Support communication between project management teams and Chinese construction partners
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive business and technical information
• Liaise with various departments to clarify terminology and ensure contextual accuracy of translations
• Perform administrative support tasks as required to assist the operations team

Requirements

• Fluent proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and Indonesian, with excellent written and spoken communication skills in both languages
• Professional experience in translation or interpretation, preferably within a construction, engineering, or international business environment
• Strong understanding of technical and business terminology in the construction industry
• Ability to work accurately under time constraints and manage multiple translation tasks simultaneously
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity to facilitate effective cross-cultural communication
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with translation tools is advantageous
• Professional demeanor and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
• A valid Indonesian work visa or eligibility to obtain one
