Summary Manages daily activities and staff who provides safety testing, repairs, calibrates, inspects, and performs preventive maintenance diagnostic and therapeutic patient care equipment for the entire System. Works in a project management and informatics coordinator capacity to ensure interdepartmental operability system-wide. Helps facilitate safe, timely, efficient, and equitable delivery of care. Oversees contract management, safety alerts and recalls, and other supply chain-related duties in the department. Helps ensures the Clinical Engineering function complies with The Joint Commission® (TJC) and other regulatory, accreditation, and inspection agency requirements, guidelines, and standards. Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology or related field and 3 years of related healthcare experience.
- In lieu of a degree, 5 years of related work experience.
- Demonstrated supervisory/management experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical engineering practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Budget, project management, and strategic planning skills and experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional self-development.
- Proven leadership, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and databases.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical, Clinical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology.
- 7 years of relevant hospital experience.
- Hospital experience in Clinical Engineering or Information Technology fields.
- Experience using Clinical Engineering asset management software.
- Experience in the lead “supervisory” experience role.
Physical Demands
