About the role

Duties

Plans, coordinates, analyzes, schedules, implements and oversees special events conducted at the lower Colorado Dams Office (including Hoover, Parker and Davis Dams and associated facilities). Special events may include but are not limited to: filming for movies, television and commercials; holiday celebrations; tours for U.S. and foreign dignitaries/officials; marathons, car shows, weddings, etc.

Provides financial and administrative support - serves as an alternate Contracting Officer's Representative overseeing memorabilia contractors; verifying reports and invoices; and planning, coordinating, evaluating and recommending actions related to acting as the ACOR. Works with Regional Financial Management Office to resolve financial irregularities or concerns.

Provides expert advice to senior management staff along with technical guidance to Visitor Center support staff and guide staff. Uses partnerships to achieve collaborative solutions coordinating all special use fee permits, including traffic, aviation, insurance certificates, etc. Develops social media and web content and coordinates on posting.

Manages the memorabilia control program by developing, planning, coordinating, recommending, implementing and evaluating new and continued production of the sale of memorabilia items and Visitor Center experiences in accordance with the Miscellaneous Sales Act to enhance visitation and revenue.

Qualifications

GS-09: In order to qualify for the GS-09 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level; OR master’s or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

Specialized Experience for GS-09: Defined as experience planning and coordinating events; preparing permits or other administrative documents, and collecting fees; experience in compiling, organizing, and tracking financial data using Microsoft Excel; drafting documents using Microsoft Word; and providing customer service by responding to inquiries both verbally and in writing.
