About the role

Duties

The individual selected for this position will:

  • Input data (project/Accounting Classification Code Structure information, class codes transactional information) into a Global Mail Meter system.
  • Maintain reporting for FedEx and UPS charges for Headquarters and the Regional Offices.
  • Respond to direct customer inquiries received through traditional mail, telephone, ACSD service center, and through the internet, regarding USPS, FedEx and UPS.
  • Communicate in writing to convey information, analysis, and recommendations to a variety of audiences.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: For the GS-09, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Distributing and tracking mail; running reports in an automated system; researching and communicating policies and standard operating procedures; providing customer service to employees on mail operations; identifying problems, reviewing production standards, and making tentative recommendations for problem resolution; and responding to customer inquiries.

OR

Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related

OR

A combination of education and experience.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-11, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Providing customer service in a mail operations environment, to include, managing and tracking mail; assisting in the development of reporting systems; researching, reviewing, communicating, and developing standard operating procedures; providing customer service to employees on mail operations, to include, resolving customer complaints; analyzing work processes and making recommendations for improvement; identifying problems, reviewing production standards, and making tentative recommendations for problem resolution; and presenting information to staff.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related

OR

A combination of education and experience.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Administering a mail management program, to include, working closely with the United States Postal Service and implementing data for financial processing and producing financial reports; developing reporting tools to track incoming and outgoing mail; researching, reviewing, communicating, and developing policies and standard operating procedures; providing customer service to employees on mail operations, to include resolving customer complaints; analyzing work processes and making recommendations for improvement; researching applicable legislation and/or regulations for impact on mail management programs; and presenting information to management and staff.

Education cannot be substituted for experience at the GS-12 grade level.
