About the role
The Mammography Technologist performs screening and diagnostic breast and bone density exams to support physicians' diagnoses.
They work under the guidance of a Radiologist or Manager, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include evaluating image quality, applying ALARA principles to minimize exposure, and providing patient-centered care.
They assist radiologists with procedures, maintain aseptic techniques, and respond to emergencies appropriately.
Qualifications include an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT-M and ARRT-R certifications, and BLS certification.
Minimum experience required is two years in Diagnostic Radiography/X-Ray, with at least one year in Breast imaging preferred.
Skills needed encompass operating radiographic and breast imaging equipment, strong communication, and excellent patient service skills.
