About the role
The role involves supporting a variety of imaging services across multiple facilities as part of a diagnostic float team. The Mammography Technologist will perform high-quality mammography exams, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy, while reviewing images for quality and accuracy. They will operate mammography equipment safely, adhere to regulatory standards, and maintain proper documentation and equipment readiness.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, and at least 2 years of hospital-based radiologic and mammography experience. Certifications required are ARRT-R, ARRT-M, and BLS.
Key responsibilities encompass patient positioning, screening for contraindications, providing clear instructions, maintaining infection control, performing quality control tests, and supporting team training. The role demands strong knowledge of anatomy, pathology, radiation safety, and communication skills.
