Makeup Artist

About This Role

The Makeup Artist (MUA) is responsible for makeup and hair application, functioning as an on-set standby for retouching. The MUA oversees the overall appearance of employees through makeup, hairstyles, and wardrobes, while maintaining an organized environment according to the Company’s Appearance Guidelines. This role requires interpreting makeup requirements to produce a flawless and technically accurate visual representation.

Responsibilities

• Verify and coordinate the activity of the Stylist Team during shifts.
• Organize tools and products provided by the Company for daily tasks.
• Ensure timely delivery of makeup, hair, and overall appearance for on-air employees according to Company standards for live broadcasts.
• Apply makeup and hairstyling in accordance with company standards, including knowledge of tattoo coverage and special effects makeup.
• Delegate and oversee image needs of employees during live production to maintain continuity of makeup.
• Monitor and perform makeup and hairstyle retouching in a fast-paced environment.
• Create and update documentation on employee appearances prior to set.
• Assist in managing inventory control of cosmetics, styling products, and tools.
• Ensure proper storage and use of equipment and work tools.
• Communicate effectively with the Lead of Appearance for product orders and supply replenishment.
• Adhere to hygiene standards and oversee cleanliness of work tools and environment.
• Educate new employees on company appearance standards.
• Report on the number and type of hairstyles and makeup activities performed.
• Maintain awareness of the latest beauty products and trends.

Requirements

• Proficient in working in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and time management skills.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in makeup artistry and basic hairstyling.
• Knowledge of various beauty products and services.
• Ability to apply makeup professionally and timely.
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in leading makeup tutorials and presentations.
• Exceptional organizational and presentation skills.
• Creative mindset and artistic personality.
• A portfolio, social media, and/or website showcasing signature looks is mandatory.
