About the role
Duties
Performs a variety maintenance and repair work in and around facilities such as, dams, power plants, buildings, grounds, roads, canals, structures, pumping plants, intake structures, water treatment plants, docks, buoys, dikes and fence lines.
- Performs rough carpentry, builds concrete forms, fences, and partitions.
- Weed,pest control, and grounds maintenance.
- Mixes, pours, and rough finishes concrete.
- Minor plumbing, pipe installation and repair, and sewer repair.
- Uses metal cutting and welding equipment for non-structural and non-load bearing applications.
- Prepares and primes surfaces for coating.
- Sets up, assembles and disassembles furniture, shelving, and products.
- Earth excavation and backfill.
- Operates tractors with attachments front-end loaders, commercial size lawn mowers, dump trucks, water trucks, forklifts, and boats.
- Operates jackhammers and other demolition tools.
- Uses common hand and power tools.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications for trades and labor positions are determined by evaluation of job elements. You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out element(s) and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all of the job elements in order to be considered qualified for this position.
