Our client, one of New Zealand’s most trusted and long-established International Energy Companies, are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Operator to join their Christchurch Bulk Fuel Terminal team. This pivotal role ensures that terminal operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently, playing a key part in maintaining critical infrastructure that serves the nation.
As a Field Operator, you will take charge of both preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of plant equipment, supporting operational needs as required. Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Mechanical trade qualification (essential)
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety principles and ability to promote a safety-first culture
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Functional computer literacy to update and monitor maintenance records
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to ad-hoc working hours and outdoor conditions
- Experience with pumps, tanks, pipework, or tank farm asset maintenance is advantageous
- Understanding of product movement within bulk fuel terminals is beneficial
- Exposure to operations with marine activities, such as tankers and bunkering, is a plus
- Ability to liaise confidently with contractors and act as a site contact
- Previous experience working within industrial or bulk fuel asset environments preferred but not mandatory
- Flexibility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to work ad-hoc hours as operational needs arise
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
