About This Role
This role involves performing entry to mid-level break-fix and preventative maintenance to sustain and improve operations in a factory environment. The technician will identify needed parts, support other department members, and ensure compliance with industry and housekeeping standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform entry to mid-level break-fix and preventative maintenance, including adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, repairing or replacing defective parts, and reconditioning or repairing machine tools
- Identify needed parts, supplies, and repair items
- Provide support and back up for other members of the department as needed by leadership
- Be aware of Maintenance Industry Standards
- Assure compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards
- Participate in CI activities - processes, results, and cost savings
- May be required to set up and operate simple machining operations including lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts; may perform basic welding tasks
- Update records and review CMMS history
- Perform basic troubleshooting of control systems circuitry
- Complete technical self-study programs for career development
- Follow all safety-related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines; maintain situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
- Associate's degree with a Technical focus or 18 months of related experience in general industry or successful completion of the ATS Technician Progression Program
- Understanding of basic electrical and mechanical systems; can perform repairs
- Must be able to use basic hand tools
Important Details
- Physical demands: regularly required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces, and talk or hear; occasionally required to sit; must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds; regularly required to use close vision and color vision
- Working conditions: occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock; typically performed in a very loud factory environment; may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors
