Maintenance Technician

About This Role

This role is for a service-minded Maintenance Technician who will provide professional elevator and escalator maintenance service to customers. The technician will be an everyday hero, making people's lives easier by ensuring quality service, improving equipment safety and performance, and promoting regular and proactive on-site communication with customers and equipment users.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer satisfaction through quality of service and regular, proactive, and precise on-site communication
• Provide accurate and real-time back reporting of work performed
• Maintain excellent relationships with customers, the contact person, and end-users on-site
• Manage the site environment during service operations
• Identify site risks and timely communicate any such occurrences
• Identify “unplanned” service repairs based on equipment needs, contact the on-site person, get approval if not covered by the contract, and perform them
• Manage PAR stock levels (shelving, inventory, stock transfer) and timely issue replenishment orders
• Submit time sheets based on the execution

Requirements

• One or more of the following qualifications:
• Red seal trade test certificate, lift mechanic
• Completed NQF level 4 certification with an apprenticeship program (minimum 4 years)
• Completed Electrical/Mechanical Engineer Diploma/Degree with completion of at least 12 months shadowing a competent lift mechanic
• Completed NQF level 5 certification with completion of at least 12 months shadowing a competent lift mechanic
• Good communication skills with basic IT skills
