Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining clean and safe outdoor environment. Some duties, but not limited, are trash pick up, snow removal, etc. Runs errands and performs other duties as requested.
Responsibilities
Equipment & Supplies
Delivers or retrieves materials and supplies, via hospital vehicles, from vendors or storage areas as requested. Transports equipment and materials to and from job sites as directed by immediate supervisor to provide a more efficient work environment for department staff. Maintains grounds equipment and supplies (i.e. tractors, salt spreader, etc.). Assists Mechanics and Carpenter/Painters as needed by moving and positioning equipment and furniture.
Safety & Transportation
Maintains hospital roadways, parking lots and walkways during all weather conditions in order to provide safe access to and from buildings. Assist visitors and employees with car problems. Transports vehicles to be services. Cleans hospital vehicles on occasion. Regularly updates and informs Director of potential safety issues concerning the outdoor environment.
Organization
Cleans work areas before/after completing tasks. Ensures tractor shed and maintenance warehouse are organized and clean.
Other Duties
Handles purchase orders and necessary monies according to policy and procedure. Accurately documents time on required paperwork. Fills in and/or performs other duties as requested by Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Heavy Work: Frequent Lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 100 lbs.
Directly related experience preferred.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
