Maintenance Supervisor

About This Role

This supervisory role involves overseeing the daily duties and core responsibilities for keeping buildings, grounds, machinery, and equipment safe, clean, and operational. It guides hiring managers and workers on facility upkeep and repairs, ensuring the smooth functioning of all aspects of the property.

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC units and lighting fixtures
• Handle minor plumbing (sinks, drains), carpentry (doors, locks, hinges), wall patching, and painting
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems, safety equipment (fire alarms, emergency exits), and mechanical assets to prevent sudden breakdowns
• Escalate major structural or technical failures to licensed third-party contractors and supervise on-site repairs
• Ensure the store complies with local building codes, occupational health and safety regulations, and cleanliness standards
• Track work orders, document parts used, manage basic maintenance logs, and report property conditions to the Store or Facilities Manager

Requirements

• High school diploma, vocational/technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Basic working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Physical stamina for standing, lifting, and moving equipment
• Flexibility to work after-hours, weekends, or on-call emergency shifts when store operations are affected
