Maintenance Supervisor

About This Role

This role involves supervising and directing maintenance employees in the repair and preventive maintenance of mobile and fixed equipment. The supervisor ensures all maintenance is performed safely and correctly, maintaining a mixed fleet of equipment to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all maintenance is performed in a safe and technically correct manner
• Maintain a mixed fleet of equipment capable of serving the customers' changing needs
• Provide leadership and direction to the internal maintenance team, external vendors, and suppliers to ensure that work is completed efficiently and in line with the Mills' schedules
• Provide technical guidance for both corrective and preventative maintenance activities
• Ensure the correct tools and resources are available for the maintenance team
• Manage short and long-term maintenance planning, and complete planned activities efficiently within budget
• Provide significant technical input and creation of scope of work for major repairs
• Assist maintenance workers and sub-contractors in performing diagnosis and troubleshooting
• Provide guidance and training to members of the maintenance crew
• Participate in safety, quality, and environmental programs by conducting observations, audits, and meetings
• Carry out duties with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity

Requirements

• 3 years plus Maintenance supervisory experience of Heavy Mobile Equipment, Static Processing Plant, Locomotive and/or Gantry Cranes
• 3 years plus Maintenance supervisory experience in a fast-paced customer-oriented service support environment
• 3 years plus Maintenance supervisory experience in a Steel Mill, quarry, mining, rolling stock, major construction or material processing environment
• Sound mechanical knowledge of the following types of equipment: Medium and Large Wheel Loaders, Scraper Tractors, Diesel Locomotive, Gantry Crane, Material Processing plants would be beneficial
• A strong organized communicator, willing to work a rotating schedule, weekends and holidays in a fast-paced environment
