Maintenance Supervisor

About This Role

This role is responsible for overseeing all shop operations within the maintenance section of the Fort Irwin contract, providing vehicle operations and consolidated maintenance support for Government-owned and leased vehicles and equipment to tenant organizations. It suits a candidate with strong leadership skills and experience in Department of Defense material maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate, and control all shop operations within the maintenance section of the Ft. Irwin contract
• Ensure all contract deliverables and reporting requirements are met
• Ensure all personnel complete all work in accordance with the Safety, Environmental, and Operational rules and regulations of the contract
• Be responsible for the state of all facilities and equipment used in support of the contract
• Review and approve timesheets
• Monitor employees’ work levels and review work performance
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports to the customer and Project Manager
• Recommend or initiate personnel actions
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum five (5) years specialized experience in management of Department of Defense (DoD) Material Maintenance programs or operations encompassing:
• Planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling maintenance operations
• Technological developments, particularly in equipment, facilities, safety, and other features
• Applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations concerning operations and programs, and proposed solutions
• Ability to gain cooperation and coordinate the work of others
• Minimum two (2) years’ supervisory experience
• Successfully pass background and drug screening
• Ability to adjust work operations to meet emergency or changing program or production requirements within the available resources and with minimum sacrifice to quantity and quality of work
• Ability to establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress
• Excellent skills in verbal and written communications
• Ability to train others
• Sufficient fine motor skill for use of computers, calculator with an ability to withstand repetitive keyboarding for extended periods of time
• Visual, auditory and communication abilities sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
• Ability to kneel, bend and twist at the waist on an occasional basis
• Ability to push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds on a regular basis and more on an occasional basis
• Ability to travel by plane and safely operate a motor vehicle
