Maintenance Supervisor

About This Role

Managing and overseeing the maintenance of equipment and facilities within a complex distribution center environment is the core of this role. The Maintenance Supervisor works with the Maintenance Manager to develop strategies and objectives for maximizing productivity and leveraging expenses, analyzing trends and solving problems to maximize contribution to the DC's success.

Responsibilities

• Coach, train, and develop associates informally and formally through training programs
• Provide both informal (e.g. on-floor coaching) and formal (e.g. written evaluation) job performance-based feedback
• Ensure technical certifications are achieved and sustained
• Maintain a union-free work environment by creating an employee-centered workplace that demonstrates care and concern for all associates
• Ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization by following Home Depot safety policies and procedures
• Monitor DC safety, physical security, and inspect equipment and facilities regularly for compliance with safety and operational standards
• Manage and oversee the facility, including repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment to ensure continuous operations
• Source and review contractor bids for repairs
• Be responsible for contractor selection, ensuring contractors are compliant with standards (safety, schedule, budget, quality)
• Review maintenance, production, and quality control reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities
• Recommend and implement changes to facility and equipment that are cost-effective and compliant with safety standards

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
• The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of an associate's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job
• 2 years of work experience

Nice to have:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Degree concentrating in Facilities Management
• Previous change management experience (driving, influencing, and inspiring change through communication)
• The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job
• 3 years of work experience
• 2+ years of previous leadership experience

• Travel: Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time
