Duties
This vacancy will be used to fill the Evening Shift. Tour of Duty is Monday thru Friday, 3:30 P.M. to Midnight.

This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, House Office Buildings, Assistant Superintendent Facility Operations Division, Mechanical Systems, Mechanical Systems, Evening Section.
Leads Air-Conditioning, Pipefitting, and Maintenance Projects
Assures that assigned work is executed and completed on time.
Assures that deadlines are met and that safety rules and practices are followed.
Explains the duties to be done and sets the pace for work assignments to be completed in a timely manner.
Resolves work-related problems and keeps the supervisor informed of performance issues.
Provides and carries out a variety of commercial and industrial systems maintenance and repair in the House Office Buildings.
Repairs, installs, and modifies systems by locating and tapping main lines, placing and cutting route openings.
Cleans industrial air conditioning components, such as evaporator coils and switches. Repairs steam systems and sprinkler piping.
Maintains, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures of the air conditioning and heating systems, plumbing, and water lines.
Repairs obstruction in piping and convectors to ensure proper circulation and flow.
Performs A/C Equipment Mechanic and Pipefitting Work:
AIR CONDITIONING:
Makes preventative maintenance inspections, major overhauls, installations and emergency repairs to exhaust fans, steam operated kitchen equipment, heating equipment, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, humidifier, pneumatic or digital controls, hot water generators, and other equipment.
PIPEFITTING:
Assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of high temperature water and high pressure piping systems such as, steam heating, and steam-generating systems. Assists with replacing sections of pipe, and repairing steam traps and relief and control valves.
MAINTENANCE MECHANIC:
Works with Plumbers and Pipefitters and A/C Equipment Mechanics to perform required maintenance, inspections and repairs.
Qualifications
You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements for the advertised position.
You must meet all eligibility and qualifications requirements by the closing date of the job announcement.
