Duties
Tour of Duty: Tuesday - Saturday, 02:30 pm - 11:00 pm
The incumbent of this position is designated as "Emergency / Essential" and will be required to report to work during emergencies and inclement weather conditions.
This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Library Buildings and Grounds, Facilities Operations Division, Maintenance Branch. The incumbent will be responsible for electrical, air conditioning, and plumbing maintenance and repair.
Major duties and responsibilities include the following:

Electrical Maintenance, Repair, and Troubleshooting – Installs, modifies, repairs, maintains, troubleshoots, tests, and loads new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. Works with secondary power distribution lines and circuits. Maintains commercial building fire alarm detection/notification system operations.

Air Conditioning System Maintenance and Repair – Designs, lays out, and installs HVAC units. Installs and removes supply, return, and exhaust ducts. Lays out and designs routing, size, type and gauge for electrical service for HVAC systems. Adjusts, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots pneumatic systems, electronic and Direct Digital Controls (DDCs) on air handler units, electronic dampers, electronic valves, variable speed drives, and variable air volume systems.

Plumbing System Repairs – Plans, lays out the routing, placement, slant, slope, fall, and proper operations of feed and drain systems and equipment using blueprints, building plans, and sketches. Installs new systems and modifies and repairs existing utility, supply, and disposal systems. Inspects and tests fire sprinkler system flow switches, tamper valves, and sprinkler heads. Troubleshoots and repairs fire pump motor controls and electrical control systems.
