Maintenance Master Lead

The Job You Will Perform:

1. Maintenance Master Leaders perform a variety of activities to maintain plant equipment and facilities in optimum operating condition. The MML always puts safety first, for him, his crew and others. The MML must have good communicating skills to communicate with his crew, the other maintenance shifts, operations, and management. Other activities include scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency / break down repairs.

   0.2 Maintenance Master Leader reports to the Maintenance Manager.

   Primary maintenance master leader duties / responsibilities include:

   1. following all safety rules and practices; and assure others follow safety rules
   2. assure product quality and specifications as denoted in SPI’s or customer requirements
   3. performing preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components; and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels;
   4. performing emergency / break down maintenance as necessary to support plant operations;
   5. referencing equipment manuals and other technical literature;
   6. contacting and working with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results;
   7. accurately using measurement and test equipment;
   8. performing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed;
   9. safely operating the boiler, and maintaining adequate operating steam pressure (> 180 PSI);
   10. maintaining clean and organized work areas, and cleaning up work areas as part of completing assigned tasks;
   11. accurately and completely preparing and maintaining maintenance records and other paperwork;
   12. trouble-shooting and solving problems;
   13. maintaining teamwork with other associates;
   14. keeping supervision informed of problems and/or unusual situations;
   15. performing other duties as assigned by supervision.
   16. when not working on break downs, keep crew productive
   17. ability to work under pressure and prioritize jobs
   18. the MML will be required to come in thirty minutes early, before his shift starts, for a shift to shift communication meeting

   Qualifications for maintenance master leader are the ability to perform the duties / responsibilities of the job with or without accommodation; the ability to read, write, and speak English; the ability to accurately use and read a variety of measuring devices; well-rounded electrical, mechanical, and machine shop skills and experience; the ability to learn; and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team.
