Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist

About This Role

This role involves performing a range of routine and complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures, producing high-quality images while adhering to established policies and procedures. The technologist will work under general supervision, ensuring patient comfort and accurate imaging.

Responsibilities

• Specialize in performing routine and complex MRI procedures
• Obtain patient history, explain standard procedures, and address patient concerns to foster comfort and confidence
• Operate and maintain all assigned MRI equipment to ensure proper function
• Position patients and utilize equipment to correctly capture images requested by a physician
• Properly identify, prepare, and/or administer medications within the technologist’s scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner
• Complete quality assurance processes and practice radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self
• Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in paper and electronic formats
• Maintain an adequate supply of all consumables to perform quality testing
• Perform all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment
• Assist other areas of radiology as assigned
• Perform other related duties as required and directed

Requirements

• Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology
• Advanced ARRT Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging
• Current BLS certification
