About This Role

This role offers the opportunity to become a skilled machinist at Tata Steel, operating heavy machinery in an industrial environment. It suits individuals who are hands-on, enthusiastic about large equipment, and comfortable in the cabin of heavy machinery, with or without prior experience.

Responsibilities

• Learn the trade in practice, starting as a trimmer (scooper) to understand installations, the work environment, and processes
• Receive professional guidance and learn to work according to all safety conditions
• Be trained step-by-step to become a fully-fledged machinist expert in moving and loading raw materials and other materials
• Work with large equipment in an industrial environment where safety, cooperation, and craftsmanship are central
• Operate machines under the guidance of experienced colleagues according to safety regulations at Tata Steel
• Support various activities as a trimmer, such as moving materials and keeping workplaces clean
• Learn how processes run and how machines are used during work
• Take on more responsibility and operate machines under supervision as experience is gained

Requirements

• Valid identification
• VCA certificate or willingness to obtain one
• Willingness to work in shifts
• Physically fit and willing to perform heavy work
• Driving license B (preferably also T-license)
• Motivated work attitude and the ambition to become a machinist
• Weekend availability

• Schedule: Shift work, including day, evening, and night shifts, with weekend availability. The shift pattern is: Day shift – Day shift – Evening shift – Evening shift – Free – Night shift – Night shift – Free – Free – Free, then repeats.
