Machinist

About This Role

This is an opportunity for a Machinist to join a global technology company that is a leader in the high-speed interconnect industry. You will be an integral part of a team responsible for new product development, supporting various engineering teams in the development, testing, and manufacturing of new products. This individual will be responsible for the operation of a variety of machinery to produce a wide variety of precision parts.

Responsibilities

• Create Prototrak programs for a variety of machines, including milling machines and lathes
• Operate manual machinery for milling, drilling, turning, and grinding of a variety of materials
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and related verbal instructions
• Monitor machining processes and perform in-process and final inspection of finished parts
• Maintain machinery and conduct minor repairs or adjustments
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards

Requirements

• Experience with precision machining equipment
• Familiarity with machining a variety of materials such as aluminum, tool steel, stainless steel, copper, and other alloys
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of tolerances
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Programming experience using Prototrak conversational controls
• Experience using solid modeling tools (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.)
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to self-start and work with minimal supervision
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment

Nice to have:

• Experience with setup and operation of CNC mills, lathes, and use of related CAM software
• 2-year Machine Tool degree or certificate
