About This Role
This role involves performing manual machining operations to manufacture, repair, and assemble precision turbomachinery components. It suits a machinist with experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or equipment repair environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual machining operations to manufacture, repair, and assemble precision turbomachinery components
- Set up and operate conventional machine tools, including manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, dimensions, and tolerances to ensure accurate machining
- Machine, modify, and repair components for compressors, turbines, and other rotating equipment
- Assist with mechanical assembly, component fitting, alignment, and preparation as required
- Support production and maintenance activities, including component fabrication, repair, rework, and quality inspection
- Inspect completed work using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators
- Perform CNC machine setup, operation, or programming when applicable, based on individual experience and capabilities
- Collaborate with engineers, assemblers, and production teams to deliver high-quality work while maintaining a safe working environment
Requirements
- Previous machining experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or equipment repair environment
- Proven hands-on experience operating manual lathes, milling machines, and other conventional machining equipment
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques to maintain dimensional accuracy
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic mechanical assembly, fitting, and component adjustments
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot machining challenges, and consistently produce high-quality components
- Demonstrated commitment to safe operation and handling of industrial machinery, tooling, and turbomachinery components
