Machine Operator Tamping Technology

About This Role

Operating and maintaining tamping machines for railway infrastructure across Germany is the core of this role. The position involves leading a team of machine operators and coordinating with construction managers and clients. This role suits an experienced machine operator with a background in tamping technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead and operate tamping complexes, primarily in the federal states of Berlin, Brandenburg, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
• Participate in the maintenance and customer service of railway vehicles
• Independently undertake transfer journeys between construction sites in the supra-regional area
• Coordinate the construction process with construction managers and clients
• Provide technical leadership to assigned machine operators
• Manage construction site billing and working time records, and document the construction site

Requirements

• Completed vocational training in a commercial-technical field (e.g., construction equipment operator, mechatronics technician, electrician, locksmith, maintenance mechanic for machine tools, machine and plant operator, industrial mechanic) with many years of relevant professional experience in tamping technology
• Preferably, training as a railway vehicle driver or locomotive driver with TFS and additional certification (Class A + B) with corresponding aptitude and suitability
• Initial technical leadership experience is an advantage
• Sound knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines for railway operations, and willingness to acquire necessary qualifications and series authorizations
• Class B driving license
• Flexibility and a high willingness to work on-site and travel for installations
