Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive and routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and building fully operational.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform needed maintenance on equipment and direct support of production operating needs.
- Evaluate equipment operation and suggest necessary action when malfunctions occur, or improvements are needed
- Participate in planning activities and manage various plant utilities that can include chiller, air compressor, security system & fire protection system.
- Complete process and preventive maintenance work orders. Capture and communicate associated data
- Maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics, automated controls and pumps
- Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment.
- Develop knowledge of electrical and PLC troubleshooting
- Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed
- Set up and operate power tools, drill motor, circular saw, welders, drill press, bench grinder, band saw, hand tools and other metal working equipment
- Assist with fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment
- Comply and participate regulatory, Carlisle, & departmental policies, procedures, & standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS)
- As directed execute projects on an as needed basis
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
- Ability to read and interpret industrial documents and electrical drawings
- Industrial mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to repair/rebuild industrial machinery such as motors, compressors, pumps, gear boxes, hydraulics, etc
- Knowledge of CMMS, SAP, MS programs
- Demonstrated ability to utilize hand tools (shop tools)
- Ability to fabricate/weld
- Awareness of PLCs, low and high electrical voltage, and 24 VDC – 480 VAC
- Inter-Personnel Skills – Including the ability to be a team player. The ability to pass on information & training to others.
- Understanding of OSHA and industrial safety protocols
- Safety certifications
- Ability to operate mobile equipment safely
