About the role

Duties

MAJOR JOB DUTIES:

· Plans and executes the operations of the organization

· Acts as the principle logistics integrator for the Commander and staff to assess and control the adequacy of logistics functions in meeting current and projected requirements.

· Functions as the organization's focal point for support agreements.

· Participates and assists in the planning and monitoring of the organizations operations.

· Advises the organization's commander on maintenance support matters.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-09) or equivalent. Specialized experience must include having the ability to direct, develop, implement or function as part of a logistics management operation for an organization involved in providing logistic support to a specified mission and long-term planning for support of world-wide readiness supporting the organization.

Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-09 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):

Knowledge of the logistics management principles, concepts, principles, practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to cargo and passenger movement, supply chain management, equipment and vehicles management, vehicle maintenance, warehousing, deployment planning an operations, personal property, movement, global fuels and cryogenics, Quality Assurance, and logistic plans under peacetime and wartime conditions to develop and recommend policies and procedures for the squadron.

Skilled in evaluating, monitoring, and inspecting logistics activities.

3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

4. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations and in formulating solutions to complex problems.

5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct functions formulating plans and policies for logistics programs.

  1. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy and to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of subordinate installations/organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: You MUST provide transcripts to support your educational claims. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
