Logistics Manager

About This Role

Managing the transportation of finished goods to domestic and international customers, while adhering to time and cost guidelines, is the core of this role. The Logistics Manager will also oversee the receiving of raw materials and warehouse operations, ensuring inventory accuracy and developing direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain shipping schedules to meet business needs and budgetary costs
• Ensure customer satisfaction through on-time delivery metrics and by addressing customer complaints
• Ensure that carriers meet all state and federal requirements for domestic and international shipments
• Develop and maintain accurate shipping and finished goods in stock records
• Organize warehouse locations for finished goods prior to shipping
• Manage and ensure all shipping programs and priorities are achieved within costs
• Ensure intercompany shipments are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Ensure raw materials are moved from outside warehouses to keep production supplied
• Manage and ensure good management practice to maintain employee motivation and engagement
• Ensure effective training, development, performance, and safety
• Ensure compliance with company safety programs, including ongoing safety training, forklift operation, HazCom, and applicable OSHA regulations
• Ensure good communication is maintained between the Shipping, Production, Quality, and Customer Service departments to facilitate shipping of finished goods and provide customers with accurate delivery information
• Manage the raw material and finished good inventory to ensure accuracy
• Perform daily cycle count activity and assist with solving any inventory accuracy issues
• Ensure all logistics operations are carried out safely and meet company and insurer
• Contribute to the development and improvement of safety policies and procedures
• Ensure the maintenance of good standards of housekeeping

Requirements

• Bachelor
• 5 years of successful experience in logistics/warehouse management in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of a variety of US and international processes, safety, and regulations related to all functions of shipping and receiving of goods, including bulk tankers and rail cars
• DOT knowledge and experience preferred
• Prior management experience for 3PL offsite warehouse experience
• Experience in controlled audit, both internal and external
• Strong ability for planning, organizing, and administration
• Proven track record of effective problem-solving and understanding of procedures in a global matrixed environment
