About This Role
This full-time position is for an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehousing and distribution centre at the Glenmarie facility in Selangor. The role is crucial for optimising supply chain processes, managing staff, and ensuring all logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently, maintaining the company's reputation for excellence and meeting demanding delivery requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage 3PL service providers to ensure reliable and cost-effective delivery services
- Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs
- Monitor and improve warehouse efficiency in storage capacity, pick & pack, FIFO process, VAS solutions etc.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to coordinate the movement of goods and ensure timely deliveries
- Track and trace the cost performance of the supply chain with respect to business performance in alignment with contractual terms
- Create and manage a logistics movement dashboard accurately to provide reports to stakeholders
- Negotiate freight rates with logistics service providers for overall service quality and quantity and to ensure all stock is pulled and loaded into the delivery vehicle with accompanying and necessary documents
- Manage essential shipping documents and bank credit applications between shipper, consignee, forwarder etc.
- Respond to and resolve complaints and problems in a timely manner
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in warehousing & distribution, shipping, or equivalent in a similar position
- Experience in Retail / F&B is an added advantage
- Knowledge of inbound & outbound process flows, forecast & inventory management, distribution strategies etc.
- Retail products management is an added advantage
- Able to communicate fluently in Mandarin, English & Bahasa Malaysia
- Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams
- Time management, with the ability to work under pressure, maintain accuracy and keep to deadlines
- Expert knowledge of technical regulations related to logistics such as import/export and customs regulations, including security requirements to include certification in dangerous goods handling and aviation security
