Duties
Major Duties:
- Responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating total cradle to grave logistics management to support a complex, major weapons system from concept through field deployment.
- Defines, refines, analyzes, and issues logistics policies applicable to one or more DoD components.
- Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
- Reviews and coordinates the development of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) plans for major, complex systems that encompass new and emerging technologies or complicated fielding requirements.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the federal service. Specialized experience must include the following duties: Plans, manages, and coordinates total cradle to grave logistics management to support a complex, major weapons system from concept through field deployment; knowledge of the DoD/AF policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition planning and logistics management processes and initiatives; Exercises full program responsibility for automated logistics systems; Reviews and coordinates the development of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) plans for major, complex systems that encompass new and emerging technologies or complicated fielding requirements. This experience must have been at a level of difficulty and complexity sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of this position. It may have been gained in the private sector, volunteer service, military service, and/or government service.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition and logistics management processes and initiatives.

Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operations of the DoD, Air Force, and organizations that govern and interface with medium altitude unmanned aircraft programs.

Skill in staff level planning, organizing, and overseeing critical aspects of development, production, and support of systems, subsystems, or equipment.

Ability to integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of logistics functions in support of research, development, production, and support of a system, subsystem, or equipment.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
