About the role
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible for implementing an Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) approach to support of Coast Guard systems with an emphasis on manpower and information technology areas, including: personnel training, training devices, computer resources support, standardization and interoperability, and technical data.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
- Coordinating with other division logistics policy specialists to ensure that all aspects of logistics are addressed, including: maintenance planning; manpower and personnel planning; supply support; test and support equipment; training; technical data; computer resources; packaging, handling and storage; transportation and transportability; and facilities.
- Participating in Coast Guard requirements management process Configuration Management processes in the planning, use of information technology in IT systems, resource management, organizational performance and logistics system and process effectiveness.
- Providing program oversight, analyzes and evaluates on a quantitative and qualitative basis, the effectiveness of programs and operations in meeting established goals and objectives.
- Evaluating contractor data submittals for compliance with Configuration Data Management operating instructions and practices associated with the identification, release and control of engineering design disclosure information and management of contractual data requirements.
Qualifications
GS-13: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal service.
Examples of specialized experience includes: Developing logistics related procedures and guidance documents; developing resource requirements to support acquisition projects; management of cost, schedule and performance for the delivery of integrated logistics support products; tracking and managing logistics contract deliverable items; identifying gaps in logistics support for new or modified asset systems.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
