About the role

Duties

Major Duties:

  • Serves as a technical expert responsible for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases involving one or more countries.
  • Responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating total cradle to grave logistics management to support a complex, major weapons system from concept through field deployment.
  • Manages program compliance with the Security Assistance Program (SAP). Plans, develops, implements, manages, and integrates all SAPs for a specified country or countries to include weapon system sales development and integration, requirements validation, follow-on support, special projects, major modification programs, and services.
  • Reviews and coordinates the development of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) plans for major, complex systems that encompass new and emerging technologies or complicated fielding requirements.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-12) or equivalent. Specialized experience is experience responsible for a comprehensive range of maintenance concepts, principles, and practices throughout the lifecycle of each weapon system. Experience must include the ability to provide technical advice to senior leaders and maintenance technicians on assigned weapons systems and associated equipment; and ensuring total logistics support for multiple complex munitions and weapons systems and associated special handling equipment, Munitions Material Handling Equipment (MMHE), Technical Orders, and support service.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Expert knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition and logistics management processes and initiatives.

  2. Broad knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operations of the DOD, Air Force, and organizations that govern and interface with the F-35 program and the aircraft that use this weapon system.

  3. Knowledge of theories and principles of Foreign Military Sales development and execution, and the Security Assistance Program and policy.

  4. Skill in staff level planning, organizing, and overseeing critical aspects of development, production, and support of systems, subsystems, or equipment.

  5. Ability to integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of logistics functions in support of research, development, production, and support of a system, subsystem, or equipment.

  6. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
