Duties
Summary of Duties: The purpose of this position is to plan, schedule, control and direct the use of logistics resources to meet mission requirements. Through subordinate supervisors, directs and supervises aircraft modification, overhaul, and repair programs that affect highly complex single or multi-engine military aircraft.
- Manages and administers aircraft logistics activities within Aircraft Generation Division and Maintenance Division.
- Supervises and directs the preparation of budget estimates; financial plans; studies of the aircraft logistics organization; manning requirements; facility requirements; mobility or contingency requirements; and publications related to maintenance, methods, policies and procedures.
- Coordinates logistics activities with supervisors, various base activities, and higher echelons of logistics such as Air Force Depot Weapons Systems Managers, NGB, Major Command Staff, etc.
- Administers a sound aircraft logistics personnel management program to assure that personnel in staff, supervisory, and technical positions are highly qualified and motivated.
- Administers a rigid safety and security program within the aircraft logistics organization.
- Serves as a technical advisor to accident investigation boards; and may be assigned as a member of an accident investigation board.
- Participates in engineering studies and analysis of proposed modifications related to aircraft, aircraft engines, accessories, systems, and associated aerospace ground equipment, machinery, and tools.

Qualifications

General Experience. Experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems.
Specialized Experience. Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions.
Notes to Candidates:
a. Situations of inversion of military rank are not permitted, i.e., a military technician may not be militarily senior to his or her full-time supervisor.
b. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted only after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Hawaii National Guard.
