About This Role
Directing and managing the organization's logistics strategy and operations is the core of this role. This includes transport, storage, distribution, and inventory management to ensure a smooth supply chain, operational efficiency, and cost reduction while adhering to quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the logistics strategy in line with organizational goals
- Oversee transportation, storage, distribution, and handling operations
- Manage and develop logistics service teams, setting goals and performance indicators
- Optimize distribution networks and transport routes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Manage and monitor transport companies and 3PL logistics service providers
- Ensure timely delivery of products and materials in required quantities and specifications
- Supervise storage operations and inventory management, coordinating with warehouses
- Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for performance improvement and cost reduction
- Prepare and manage the logistics budget and monitor operational expenditures
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure the performance of logistics operations
- Coordinate with purchasing, sales, warehouses, and production to ensure a smooth supply chain
- Manage contracts and negotiations with transport companies, suppliers, and service providers
- Develop emergency and business continuity plans to address supply chain disruptions
- Ensure compliance with regulations related to transport, storage, and safety
- Utilize Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to improve operations
- Lead automation, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives in logistics operations
- Prepare operational and strategic reports and submit them to senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Extensive experience in logistics and supply chain operations management, with leadership experience
- Experience in managing transportation, distribution, warehousing, and inventory
- Strong knowledge of TMS, WMS, and ERP systems
- Advanced skills in data analysis, cost management, and process optimization
- Experience in managing suppliers and logistics service providers, and contract negotiation
- Excellent leadership, planning, and decision-making skills
- Good knowledge of safety systems, compliance, and regulations related to transport and logistics services
- Proficiency in Arabic and English
