About This Role
This hands-on logistics role is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day movement of finished goods, aftermarket kits, components, machinery, and other equipment. It involves preparing and reviewing shipping documentation, tracking shipments, supporting import/export activities, and resolving transportation issues from order release through final delivery.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate LTL, FTL, expedited, flatbed, specialized, and oversized freight based on shipment requirements
- Obtain and compare freight quotes based on cost, transit time, service requirements, and customer commitments
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers, freight forwarders, customers, and internal teams
- Track shipments from pickup through delivery and proactively address delays, missed pickups, damaged freight, and other transportation issues
- Coordinate transportation for machinery, oversized equipment, aftermarket kits, components, and other finished goods
- Prepare and verify Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing lists, commercial invoices, export documentation, and other shipping records
- Verify shipment information including part numbers, quantities, weights, dimensions, special handling requirements, and customer routing instructions
- Support import/export activities, including HTS code information, customs documentation, and coordination with customs brokers and freight forwarders
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, shipping, supply chain, or a manufacturing environment preferred
- Working knowledge of LTL and FTL transportation
- Experience preparing or working with BOLs, packing lists, freight documentation, and shipping records
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn ERP and transportation systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments and competing priorities
Nice to have:
- Experience coordinating international freight
- Experience preparing export documentation
- Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers
- Knowledge of HTS classifications, customs requirements, and Incoterms
- Experience coordinating flatbed, oversized, specialized, machinery, or heavy-equipment shipments
- Experience within a manufacturing or heavy-industrial environment
- Experience with ERP systems such as Infor LN
- Experience using freight management or Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
