Case load involves deliveries (vaginal, C-section), suction D&C, ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding . High-risk patients are managed by MFM specialists, while the Laborist handles deliveries and rounding for unreferred patients.
The role requires VA licensure , experience with EPIC EMR , and skills in obstetrics procedures.
Support staff includes OB hospitalists, surgical assistants, and nurses.
Call ratio is 1:4, with a low average of less than one callback per shift.
Ongoing availability is needed, with coverage on specified dates.
Ideal candidates are flexible, prepared to cover both hospital and clinic duties, and capable of managing a moderate patient volume in a 9-bed L&D and 20 postpartum unit.
