. This Associate-level, contract, on-site position is ideal for a compassionate and skilled physician who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment. In this role, you will focus on providing high-quality, patient-centered medical care, working collaboratively with clinical staff, and ensuring continuity of care within the practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a medical doctor seeking a meaningful contract role while making a direct impact on patients' lives in a primary care setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care assessments and evaluations to patients.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions, developing appropriate care plans.
- Perform on-site consultationsand follow-upsin line with the locum MD role.
- Order and interpret diagnostic testsand prescribe medications in accordance with best practices.
- Educate patientsand families on health maintenance, disease prevention,and treatment options.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses,and support staff to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely confidential patient records.
- Adhere to medical practice protocols, safety standards,and regulatory requirements.
- Adapt quickly to varying patient volumesand clinic schedules as a contract physician.
- Uphold the highest standards of ethical medical practiceand patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the relevant jurisdiction (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Associate-level professional experience in primary care or a related medical field.
- Board certification or board eligibility in a primary care specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine) is preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge of primary care practices, diagnostic procedures,and treatment methods.
- Excellent patient communication, empathy,and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Santa Rosaand manage a flexible contract schedule.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Strong organizational skillsand attention to detail for accurate patient documentation.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based care.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p
Patient Volume: ~10 per day
Will treat common chronic medical disorders, including diabetes, hypertension, COPD, degenerative arthritis, depression, congestive heart failure, angina, and pain
Telehealth appointments as appropriate
EMR: CPRS
Any active, unrestricted U.S. medical license
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
BLS and ACLS required
