About the role

Description

This on-site, contract opportunity is ideal for an Associate-level physician looking to provide high-quality vascular surgical care while working in a collaborative clinical environment.

As a Locum Vascular Surgeon, you will play a critical role in diagnosing and treating patients with vascular conditions, performing surgical procedures,and ensuring continuity of care within the practice. Your expertise will directly support the practice's commitment to excellent patient outcomes and comprehensive surgical services across Colorado Springs and the surrounding region.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with vascular conditions and determine appropriate treatment plans
  • Perform open and endovascular surgical procedures for arterial, venous,and lymphatic disorders
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies such as ultrasound, CT angiography,and vascular laboratory results
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists,and primary care physicians to coordinate patient care
  • Provide pre-operative, intra-operative,and post-operative management for vascular surgery patients
  • Participate in on-call coverage and respondto urgent vascular surgery needs as required
  • Monitor patient recovery, manage complications,and adjust treatment plans accordingly
  • Educate patients and families regarding vascular health, surgical options,and recovery expectations
  • Maintain accurate, timely,and complete medical records in compliance with practice and regulatory standards
  • Support quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety and surgical outcomes

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with specialization in Vascular Surgery
  • Associate-level clinical experience in vascular surgery or a related surgical field
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Vascular Surgery
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in Colorado or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • Strong diagnostic skills in vascular disease assessment and treatment planning
  • Proven ability to perform both open surgical and endovascular procedures effectively
  • Excellent patient care skills with a focus on safety, accuracy,and compassionate communication
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary medical team
  • Capacity to manage on-call responsibilities, including emergency vascular cases
  • Strong documentation practices and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and clinical compliance

Level II Trauma

24-hour call coverage (7a-7a), specific dates

Daily Volume: 3-4 admissions

Patient Population: Adult and geriatric

Required Procedures: Abdominal open and endovascular

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

DEA highly preferred
