About This Role
This role involves adapting and refining short-form television series scripts for North American audiences. It is ideal for a creative writer with experience in screenwriting, script adaptation, or content localization, who also has a strong understanding of both Western and Chinese storytelling traditions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with writers, editors, and cross-functional creative teams to adapt original scripts for audiences
- Refine dialogue, pacing, character development, and narrative structure to ensure cultural relevance and audience engagement
- Preserve the creative intent of the original scripts while producing natural, compelling English-language adaptations
- Provide creative recommendations and localization expertise throughout script development
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure localized content aligns with creative goals and audience expectations
Requirements
- Exceptional command of written English with strong screenwriting and storytelling abilities
- Demonstrated experience writing, adapting, or localizing scripts for television, digital media, or short-form content
- Bachelor's degree in Film, Television, Creative Writing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Familiarity with storytelling trends and audience preferences in North America
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multicultural teams

- Understanding of Chinese short-form television content, web fiction, or related storytelling styles
