Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide high-quality in-home care for individuals who need assistance with daily living activities and personal care. This important role involves delivering personalized support, ensuring client safety, and promoting independence while helping clients maintain the highest possible quality of life in the comfort of their own homes.
As a Live-In Caregiver, you will serve as the primary source of care and companionship, working closely with clients and their families to meet individual needs. The ideal candidate is attentive, patient, energetic, and committed to providing exceptional care with dignity and respect.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient observation and respond promptly to their needs, ensuring safety and well-being at all times
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Administer medications accurately following medical instructions and document medication records diligently
- Perform medical procedures such as catheter care, vital signs monitoring, and assisting with hospice or dementia care plans
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for precise medical documentation and record keeping
- Support clients with meal preparation, cooking, laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and clean living environment
- Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers safely using proper techniques
- Observe changes in patient condition, report findings accurately, and update medical records following HIPAA guidelines
- Assist with mobility using tools like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe transfers
- Provide companionship and emotional support while respecting client preferences and privacy
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health care settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or memory care needs
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and vital signs measurement
- Experience operating EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient care activities
- Knowledge of long-term care practices including hospice care, catheter management, and patient safety procedures
- Proven ability to handle sensitive medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Previous work involving patient observation, assisting with ADLs, caregiving for seniors or individuals with disabilities is advantageous
Schedule
- This position requires working six days per week, providing approximately 12 hours of care each day, with one scheduled day off during the week.
