Litigation Associate - Construction Litigation

About This Role

This litigation associate role focuses on real construction cases, offering direct client contact and courtroom experience early in your career. It suits a lawyer who wants to become a well-rounded trial lawyer rather than just a document reviewer, with a focus on construction and casualty defense.

Responsibilities

• Handle construction and civil litigation matters from early case evaluation through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other substantive briefs, supported by strong legal research
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
• Work directly with clients, insurers, and claims professionals, and collaborate with experts on case strategy
• Participate in mediations, settlement talks, trial prep, and courtroom proceedings, taking on more ownership of cases over time

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active Colorado bar license (or eligibility to waive in)
• 1

-6 years of legal experience, ideally in civil litigation

• Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Genuine interest in construction law

Nice to have:

• Experience in construction defect, insurance defense, or commercial litigation
