Linux Security Engineer

About This Role

Optimizing and maintaining business-critical applications and platforms is the focus of this DevOps Expert role, with a strong emphasis on Linux-based systems. The position involves deployments, integrations, automation, incident resolution, and performance improvement to ensure reliable and secure service delivery. You will collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to drive continuous improvements and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Integrate new solutions and continuously optimize existing applications, services, and workflows
• Act as a subject matter expert for the back-end environment, with a strong focus on Linux-based systems
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to their adoption within the team
• Apply engineering standards, principles, guidelines, and frameworks with a focus on performance, security, reusability, scalability, sustainability, and DevSecOps practices
• Co-own the operation, monitoring, and reliability of production systems and ensure adherence to agreed service levels
• Ensure the stability, continuity, and performance of the platforms and services under your responsibility
• Design and implement secure, reliable, and automated solutions end-to-end, embracing DevOps best practices
• Create proofs of concept to validate new technologies, approaches, and solutions
• Optimize the integration between applications and infrastructure and identify infrastructure requirements when needed
• Participate in incident response activities and on-call rotations when required
• Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and areas for improvement while maintaining alignment with broader business and technology objectives
• Review and validate technical documentation to ensure quality and consistency
• Demonstrate customer-focused thinking, providing pragmatic solutions, and applying strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Take ownership of your work, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and contribute positively to the team environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience
• Strong knowledge of Open Systems, Mainframe architectures, and package integration
• Ability to quickly understand and adapt to complex technical environments, tools, and frameworks
• Experience working within Agile delivery methodologies
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure and interpret complex information
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
• Capable of working autonomously while maintaining a proactive and result-oriented mindset
