About This Role

This highly specialized role is for an experienced Red Seal Journeyperson Powerline Technician in the Lower Mainland, with minimal travel within BC. It requires a specific mix of field expertise, strong communication skills, and comfort with computers and administrative work.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Ford F 550 bucket truck with an insulated 37 ft boom
• Work in all conditions, including using a 40 ft stick overhead to install and retrieve ammeters on energized 25 kV overhead lines from the ground
• Utilize strong computer skills, including consistent use of a laptop and smartphone, job-related applications, electronic reporting, and document control
• Maintain clear, professional communication skills, written, spoken, and electronic
• Work closely with and take direction from BC Hydro security team members
• Maintain a safety-first mindset at all times

Requirements

• Red Seal Journeyperson Powerline Technician
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
• Ability to successfully pass BC Hydro security screening, including a criminal record check
